It means I give everything I’ve got and more than you bargained for, each and every time we work together.
With an extensive background in marketing and events management, I’m not what you’d call a “fluffy” stylist.
In fact, I have over 20 years’ experience working in fashion and film.
As the national publicity and promotions manager for United International Pictures, I was responsible for marketing blockbuster films from Universal, Paramount, MGM and DreamWorks studios across Australia.
Since then, I’ve worked with some of the largest fashion retailers in Australia and New Zealand, and helped countless women look great and feel incredible about how they look — regardless of their shape, size, age, lifestyle or budget.
In fact, nothing gives me more joy than boosting a woman’s confidence with an outfit that fits AND flatters her body.
Why? Because when women look good, we feel good.
I should know.
I’ve had my fair share of health and weight problems over the years: from severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum during TWO pregnancies to dramatic post-partum weight gain; steroids for chronic endometriosis; complex spinal surgery; migraines and chronic fatigue to a hysterectomy sooner than expected………
Put it this way: I know what it’s like to feel like an unattractive frump. And the last place I ever wanted to find myself was in front of a changing room mirror in some store.
And so, I took action.
I started devouring every book I could lay my hands on about dressing for your body shape. And slowly, it dawned on me: If I was suffering with body image issues and plunging self-esteem, other women must be too. Once I’d discovered how to hide my lady lumps and manage my sizeable (ahem) assets, I got my groove back — and a new mission.
So far, so good.
I’ve worked with the likes of Target, Myer, The Body Shop, DFO, shopping centre groups like Westfield and AMP Capital, as well as the Specialty Fashion Group, among others.
And I’ve helped thousands of women feel better about that changing room mirror.
You can find a full list of clients I’ve worked with here.
With over 20 years experience in fashion, film and retail, Lucy Hendriks hasn’t just worked alongside A-list Hollywood actors – she’s helped thousands of women look and feel fabulous, and love the body they’re in.
As a Certified Stylist, she established The Fashion Workshop in 2008, and conducts Fashion Workshops, Fashion Retail Sales Training and events for some of the largest names in retail including Target, Westfield, Myer, DFO, AMP Capital, Lend Lease, Specialty Fashion Group and the Pretty Girl Fashion Group. Her work was recently recognised by Target with her nomination for “Supplier of the Year”.
Her passion lies in increasing the confidence, self esteem and joy of woman everywhere as well as empowering and educating the retailers who serve them. Because she believes that when a woman looks good, she feels good. And when a woman feels good, she can take on the world.
“Life is too short not to look and feel fabulous every single day, because you’re worth it.” is a personal mantra she instills in her clients, retailers and audiences alike.
